From Camp Mack, a Guy Harvey Lodge, Marina & RV Resort you have easy access to three different lakes, Lake Kissimmee, Lake Hatchineha, and Cyprus Lake making it a great destination for the fishing enthusiast. If you are not an angler, that is ok as the chain of lakes provides a wide variety of wildlife and adventure. Next door is Lake Kissimmee State Park featuring over 20 miles of hiking and equestrian trails which is fun for the entire family.
The Kissimmee Chain of Lakes is known for producing World Class Large Mouth Bass. Year after year anglers come to Camp Mack for some of the best fishing not only in Florida, but the World! Guest can enjoy a family day fishing on the lake with one of our pontoon rentals at the marina, book one of our top of class fishing guides at the outfitter, or join one of the upcoming tournaments. In addition to large mouth bass fishing you can also catch crappie, catfish, chain pickerel, and blue gill.
Time to get on the water and enjoy the outdoors! Explore the 35,000 acres of the Lake Kissimmee and its neighboring lakes and creek on the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes. At Camp Mack you can enjoy a day air-boating with Alligator Cove Air Boat Tours, the #1 rated activity by TripAdvisor in Lakes Wales. On the tour you will see areas of the lake that are only accessible by air boats and great for photographing alligators, birds and all the of the Florida Wildlife. For those who want more freedom cruising the lake, they can rent one of the pontoon boat at the marina.
The park offers over 13 miles of hiking trails which showcases white-tailed deer, bobcat, bald eagles, sand hill cranes, turkeys and other wildlife. The trails take you through the pine flat woods, oak hammocks by freshwater marshes and out to Lake Kissimmee. You may take your pick from a half mile self-guided nature trail, two loop trails and a spur trail out to the lake. Lake Kissimmee State Park also offers a three-story (30 foot) observation tour that overlooks the marsh plains and Lake Kissimmee, offering fantastic views of the landscape and wildlife.
Birding & Photography
Camp Mack has excellent opportunities for birders and photographers. The Kissimmee Chain of Lakes has abundant water, wetlands, and numerous habitats for birders to view different water fowl and birds of prey, which can be seen around the camp or next door at Lake Kissimmee State Park. Photographers also enjoy a trip to nearby Gatorland which has some excellent opportunities for photos.
